three line horror story
Three-Line Horror Story Exercise
A three-line horror prompt for testing whether a premise works on mobile before expanding it into a story.
Prompt opener
No one answered the door. Everyone inside texted me back. They all used the same sentence.
Use line one for absence, line two for contradiction, and line three for a repeatable pattern.
Why it works
- - The premise is readable in one phone screen.
- - The contradiction is social, not abstract.
- - The repeated sentence can become a poll, reply prompt, or episode hook.
Rewrite moves
- - Make each line do one job only.
- - Use a repeated phrase, number, or name as the hook object.
- - Stop before explaining who sent the messages.
Test your version
Paste your three-line version into the Plotloom tester and compare its hook strength, curiosity gap, mobile readability, and shareability.
