Saea, their leader, was smiling on the screen, but a black cord was tied around her wrist.

The same cord appeared on the real Saea's wrist. Then one appeared on each member, tightening without pain. The television in Room 404 trembled and printed a caption across the stage lights: THE FIRST LUMI9 FAILED. THE SECOND LUMI9 WAS CALLED SO THE FAILURE WOULD NOT REPEAT.

Yuna picked up the remote. Every channel showed another debut. In one timeline, the song vanished under a plagiarism scandal. In another, the lighting rig fell before the first chorus. In another, one member disappeared ten minutes before curtain.

On the last channel, future Yuna leaned close to the camera. Her makeup had run into two dark lines.

"Do not close the door," she whispered. "Do not let us out. If we leave, you go in instead."
